I met some problems when I import Canon XA55 4K XF-AVC footage into Final Cut Pro X, my friend told me that FCP X doesn’t support 4K XF-AVC footage well and the Apple ProRes 422 is Apple editing best editable format, so how can I transcode the 4K XF-AVC files to ProRes video? How to convert Canon XS55/XA50 4K videos to ProRes codec for FCP X editing?
Import 4K video
First, connect your Canon XA55 or Canon XA50 to your computer and transfer the footage to your hard drive.
